How to check plagiarism
6 years ago in Plagiarism By Yashti Iyer
I am scared as there are strict guidelines from my university that if plagiarism come above 10% they will not even give one chance, they will directly reject the dissertation and my mentor is very strict and particular about all this. I have written my whole dissertation myself only but i am still scared as i have not completely re-written content; i have mostly edited and paraphrased slightly. I don’t want my dissertation to be rejected as i have put in a lot of hardwork in it. So that is why i want to check plagiarism of my paper before submitting it to my mentor.
Please suggests me some reliable software where i can check plagiarism of my research paper. So that if the plagiarism is above 10% i can edit it accordingly.

I think you shouldn’t trust online softwares to check plagiarism, as every software will show different results. You will be more confused. The best way is to find out software your university use and then search that software online and upload your paper. You will be then 100% sure about the plagiarism.

I can understand from what you are going through. After completing the research if it gets rejected, this is the most painful thing. So, don’t be afraid. You can go online and check for softwares which will help you in checking your plagiarism. Don’t just check it in one software. Check it in minimum 8 to 9 softwares. Submit your paper only after checking it again and again.

Keep these points in mind while you write your research. So, find the information online perfect for your research, read and understand it and then put it in your own words. Make sure that you do not copy exactly and don’t use more than two copied words in the same sentence. Be sure to edit your research paper carefully and check for plagiarism before turning it in the class. You can also use plagiarism checker services such as WriteCheck, it is a great way to assess your paraphrasing. Do not take the chance of not checking your research paper. Plagiarism could mean the loss of your academic degree or career.

Everybody above has advised you so well, i would really like to add some more links for plagiarism checking. You can try these and some more similar software and sites to help identify plagiarism. If identical texts are found, you can easily edit or delete it maintaining the word count instructed by your university. http://mashable.com/2012/08/29/plagiarism-online-services/ http://plagiarism-detect.com/ http://www.plagium.com/ http://www.plagscan.com/seesources/

You can go for some reputed plagiarism checking softwares instead of going for free checkers. Although they are very difficult to find but i am sure you will find them. Also, for high level plagiarism check you can use ITHENTICATE PLAGIARISM DETECTION which is being used by top publishers. http://www.ithenticate.com/
