Yes, they are almost similar. For presentation you must include what is the main focus of your research and  explain why is the research problem important. Make sure that you explain them in brief and not in-depth.  Also include the research methods, significant findings and conclusion. Remember, your abstract must not be more than 250 words.

You must include abstract while presenting your paper. Clearly explain your idea or research question your study addresses.  Explain why your research is important and how it can contribute to your field of study field.  This is followed by explanation as how you collected information/data, is your method qualitative or quantitative, etc.  Next include the key results of your study and discuss how it is related or different from that of the previous research.
