Information regarding PhD

PhD

Hey, I wish to do PhD but I don’t know some of the information regarding it such as the duration in which I will complete my PhD. I think it’s a long time but one of my teachers told me that it’s not that much longer.
So, please help me in clearing my confusion and tell me the exact no of years.

I did it in five years. My supervisor was an incredibly helpful person, and I was fortunate enough to have him. He never wasted my time, and I had a very friendly relation with him. He knew my style of working and never bothered me about that. I managed to publish several papers in reputed journals and finished with my thesis without any trouble.
