Parameters to decide fins

Hi, I am a second year PhD researcher and presently researching in the field of advanced fins for transformer application. Can anyone suggest me on what parameters should be taken into consideration while deciding on fins?

The main parameters which have to be considered in fins are Conduction, convection and radiation with respect to time for the transformer application. Fins are generally used to increase the surface area and it is mainly termed as convection parameters. Hence, in this case, the fins have to be developed by incorporating convection parameters as the main focus.
