The pragmatic approach includes utilizing the process which appears best suited to the research problem. Mixed method research is a methodology for conducting such research that involves collecting, analyzing and integrating quantitative and qualitative research.

A pragmatic study concentrates on an individual decision within an actual real-world situation. The process of undertaking a pragmatic research is first to recognize a problem and view it within its general context. This leads to a research inquiry, which seeks to understand better and ultimately solve the problem. Finally, the research findings often result in policy suggestions, new environmental initiatives, or social change.
