After measuring force/torque at the remote robot's end-effector, this data is scaled and sent to the operator's master device. The master device uses actuators (motors) to generate proportional resistive or guiding forces against the operator's hand, creating the sense of touch. Stability is critical, often addressed using passivity-based control or the network theory of scattering transformations.
