The optimal materials balance strength, weight, and function. For structural bodies, aluminum alloys or carbon fiber composites offer excellent strength-to-weight ratios. For tactile, compliant fingers, silicone elastomers or other soft polymers enable safe, adaptive grasping and interaction with objects and people.
