Working of oil sealed rotary vane pump and liquid ring vaccum pump
Are the working of oil sealed rotary vane pump and liquid ring vaccum pump the same? Both of them are wet and positive displacement pumps. So they should have the same working right?

Working of the liquid ring pump – This pump compresses gas by rotating the vaned impeller located within the pump. Liquid is then fed into the pump. The centrifugal acceleration moves cylindrical ring (against the inside of the casing). The liquid ring then creates multiple seals in the empty space between the impeller vanes. The eccentricity between the pump housing and impeller axis of rotation leads to a cyclic variation of the volume that is enclosed by the ring and the vanes. Next the ring compresses the gas and discharges it through an exit port at the end of the housing.
