Synopsis
6 years ago in PhD Proposal/Synopsis By Ritu Gupta
I am in the 1st year of my PhD and need to submit my synopsis in a week, and I am confused regarding the length of the synopsis. What is the ideal length? Is it necessary to make it longer? I am not at all sure about all these things. Please suggest me something so that I could start writing it.

Usually, the length of the synopsis doesn’t matter, what matters is the content. So if you include all the necessary information that’s required, then even a page for a synopsis is more than enough. However, if your college or mentor has outlined some guidelines, then that’s a different case. Then, you should work accordingly.

I agree with what Varun said above. During my submission, my college followed a standard format for submission of a research proposal. We had a 2-page document, wherein we had to put in everything in a compact manner. So check once again, if there’s any guideline to be followed.
