Types of inferential statistics


Are mean, median, mode etc inferential statistics? If not which are the types of inferential analysis?

No. mean, median, mode, percentage are not inferential but are descriptive statistics.

No Aarav. They are aren’t inferential but are descriptive statistics. Some of the inferential statistics are correlation, regression and analysis of variance. Descriptive statistics are used to identify the type of inferential statistic whereas inferential statistics are used to determine the relationship between two or more variables.

Some of the inferential statistics are Correlation – This analysis describes the relationship between two variables. If a correlation is not found, it means that there isn’t any relationship among the variables. And if a correlation is found then there is relationship among the variables. Regression – This analysis shows the relationship between two variables. Analysis of variance – In many experiments this analysis indicates a significant finding from the research. I.e. this analysis is used to test the degree to which groups ( 2 or more) vary or differ in an experiment.
