Hi,

To start your PhD, I would recommend you to first analyze the area in data mining where you want to work. Because I’m also doing the PhD In Predictive Analysis of Data Mining. Data Mining Combines a lot of fields, Statistics, Computer Science, Operation Research, etc.

For example, we can be good in Computer Science but not in Statistics, so plan accordingly. Identify your research area and then collect some research papers and then identify what new can be done in that, and prepare the synopsis. Because, most of us say I have an interest in doing research, but starting it might not be right. Apart from this, develop things whatever you study, so it becomes easy. But as research you’ve to think and prove something new. Institutions play a great role only when your guide/supervisor under whom you are doing PhD. Make sure he/she has knowledge & experience in that area.

Hope this information will help you. All the best!
