WSN vs IOT

I have a confusion. I had an assumption that WSN and IOT are the same. But my colleague says the other way round. Someone please help me resolve this confusion.

Rahul, your friend is right. WSN and IOT aren’t the same. In simple words, WSN is a network that monitors bodily parameters of a utility. Whereas IOT manages and monitors bodily objects over internet.

cRahul sensors send data directly to the internet. But this is not in the case of WSN. There is no direct connection from the sensor to the internet. Various sensors are connected to a router. A person must then route the data from the router whenever required.
