In ground penetrating radar, can data be collected in grid format? Or is it collected only in simple lines?

Jeff, you can definitely collect data in the grid format. Grid format will produce a map of targets located in the soil or concrete. Using this method, we can see the virtual slices in the image to find the depth of the objects and also create a 3D map of the image.

How deep can this ground penetrating radar go?

By Divya Answered 5 years ago

Jeff, this is the most commonly asked questions. In many cases an estimated depth can be determined with accuracy mainly based on the frequency of the GPR antenna and subsurface material. For applications demanding higher resolution, like locating rebar or conduits in concrete, a higher frequency GPR system (1,000 MHz) is used.

Jeff, applications requiring deeper penetration in ground soil need a lower frequency (12.5 MHz to 500 MHz).
