Point cloud visualisation is a comparatively latest concept. To capture the shape of a physical object usually, a 3D scanner is used. All it does is it creates point clouds of a data. These can then be used to regenerate the picture that was captured.

Gopalakrishna, When a 3D scanner scans an object, what kind of information does it combine?

By Gopalakrishna Kaza Answered 5 years ago

It basically combines data from the laser light that falls on the object and data from other sensor or two stationary cameras.

I agree with Gopalakrishna. Data from laser light and stationary sensors are combined. The point cloud thus captured is an accurate or even space. https://www.prototechsolutions.com/point-cloud-visualization/ read this page to obtain clear explanation.
