There are various types of editing process. Standard editing, substantive editing, scientific editing and proofreading. Although copy editing is not as popular as the other editing types, it is advisable to use this type of editing to enhance your thesis. Copy editing includes: Proofreading the manuscript. Checking for spelling, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. Checking for the consistency in writing style. Rephrasing and revising the sentences.

Copy editing is the last step in preparing a document for submission. It eliminates typographical errors, improves overall language quality, ensures that the tone and style used are appropriate for the document’s purpose. Tip: Follow the formatting & stylistic requirements of the journal/ publisher or the style manual commonly referred in your field.
