Hey guys! Can I use content analysis to analyse non-numerical data? If yes, what procedure needs to be followed?

Yes definitely you can use content analysis to analyse non-numerical data. First of all, collect the data Inspect the data Identify coding units Analyse data using coding units

You can use content analysis to analyse the data. But be aware of its disadvantages. Causality cannot be established It describes only the data. Hence, it cannot extract explanation for the data patterns arising.

Sriya I agree with you. Content analysis does has few disadvantages. But it is widely used among the researchers. This is because, it offers few advantages over other approaches as well. It is a reliable way to analyse qualitative data as the coding units are not open to interpretation It doesn’t consume too much of time
