Aspects to include in research methodology section

Well, I’ve my PhD interview around in a few weeks. I have finalized a topic that related to the factors affecting performance of youth in some practices in South India. But while writing the synopsis, I’m confused about what to put in research methodology. So, can anyone tell me what all data is required in methodology?

Hi  When preparing a synopsis, the methodology should basically outline how you’re going to carry out the research. To make it easier, i’ve prioritized few points that are must and should be included in your methodology. What is the type of research you conduct? Is it exploratory, descriptive, analytical research? Etc. Are you following the qualitative or quantitative approach? Does this study involve primary data or secondary data? When collecting data, who will be your population and sample? And what is sampling technique? What tools and methods are used for data collection – observations/ case studies/ questionnaires/ interviews? What procedure or tool will you use for data analysis? If you’re able to pulling up these above questions in your methodology, then it should do great! Good luck and all the best.

do agree with Kushi, though the concept of research methodology has been explained in a concise manner and well-nurtured. In case, you want to have a detailed look into different types of research designs, sampling techniques, data collection methods, analysis techniques, you can refer to online peer records. If you obtain an understanding of the underlying concepts. I’m sure viewing some records will help you in the long-run.
