Research topic

My research area is concerned with consumer buying behaviour. After doing a lot of research about it, I found that this area is vast, and has a lot of studies already done on it. My confusion is that should I develop the LR first and then come up with a narrow topic. What exactly should I do? FRom where should I start? And how will I narrow it down?

You can take some help from Google scholar for some relevant articles. Reviewing the literature of those articles will help you come up with ideas and can give a direction to your thoughts. Thereby giving you ideas to narrow down the topic.

Take help from some existing research paper to develop your literature review. You can refer to Elsevier site and find the research papers related to your research field. Then, you can develop the literature review chapter by consulting to few research papers. With the help of those research works, you can narrow down the topic and make it specific.
