I am planning to do my PhD research in the field of computer networks. I am struck with how to choose the specific field in computer networks. I would like to know which area would be feasible to proceed with and also suggest me trending topics in computer networks.

Hello, the area which you have selected has n number of research scope and fine research can be done in this field. As you know, computer network is a vast area. First, you can narrow down to a particular area of interest. For ex. Security protocol design in MANET is a trending topic with the integration IoT concept. Congestion control on WSN has also an eye catching research area. You can select among these areas and formulate some novel algorithms for improving the outcome
