I’m supposed to use the correlational study to conduct my research in psychology. But all I know is about positive and negative correlations. It would be of great aid if someone give me some more information about this method.

Raj, there are three types of correlation research. Naturalistic observation involves observing and recording the variables of interest without interference/ manipulation by the experimenter. The survey method is the most common method that is used in psychological research. A random sample of participants completes the questionnaire that is related to the variables of interest. Archival research is performed by analysing a study conducted by some other researcher.

Yes sure. You are asked to use this method because either you cannot perform an experiment or in order to collect preliminary data. This method involves looking at relationships between two or more variables. Make sure you know about the limitation of this method. This method cannot prove that one variable causes a change in another variable.
