Can anyone suggest me on - how to write a research proposal for a PhD in Finance?

In my opinion, firstly you have to refer the research paper for the area of your research and study the review of the literature.
And then, find out the gap in the study. Based on this prepare the research proposal. If it has to be said to a beginner like you (I’m assuming),
it is really important to understand the research problem & its gaps through relevant literature at the first phase only.
Then only, you could easily write up your proposal through supporting literature.

Generally, a research proposal is intended to convince others that you have a worthwhile research project & that you have the competence & work-plan to complete it.
Writing a research proposal should include some crucial points, as follows;
1. A research proposal should contain all the key elements involved in the research process and include sufficient information
   for the readers to evaluate the proposed study.
2. The goal of a research proposal is to present and justify the need to study a research problem and to present the practical ways
   in which the proposed study should be conducted.
3. The design elements and procedures for conducting the research should be governed by standards within the predominant discipline in which the problem resides.
4. The research proposal should contain extensive literature reviews. They must provide persuasive evidence that a need exists for the proposed study.
5. A proposal should describe a detailed methodology for conducting the research consistent with the requirements of the professional or
   academic field and a statement on anticipated outcomes.
6. Make it a high-quality proposal, that not only promises success for the project but also impresses your Thesis Committee about your potential as a researcher.
Hope, this helps you with writing! All the best.
