Hi…secondary data analysis is performed generally based on the information or evidence collected from different studies and then by critically analysing them in your study. For that, you need to have the literature review chapter as well where you will do secondary research and collect the related information. For the secondary data analysis, you need to identify the previously established data and information and then compare the same with your study. This will help you in performing the analysis successfully.

Secondary data analysis refers to the data collected by someone else. I have also done a research work where I have done secondary data analysis. So, as per my experience and studies, you have to find the themes and sub-themes out of your present study first. Then, depending on that, you can collect the views of other researchers who have established their research works before. The main concepts or variables of the study will be themes depending on which you have to find the other sub-themes. This will help in comparing and analysing the information and perform secondary data analysis on it.

You can compare your study with the previously established relevant research topics and gather the ideas of various scholars. This will help in comparing the data and critically analyse it to meet the research objectives. The themes and sub-themes can also be formed based on this covering the research questions or objectives of the study. Thus, to perform the secondary data analysis, the data collection would be secondary in nature. After the secondary data analysis is done, you can conduct a discussion chapter on it and summarize its results in the conclusion.
