Importance of literature review
I have started writing my thesis. I’m done with introduction chapter, now I have to write Literature review chapter. But why should I include this chapter in my thesis. Why is Literature review chapter so important?

a) It demonstrates to a Ph.D. committee that the student has read a large amount of statistical literature to prove that the student is aware of the wide range of research in theory and methodology related to the proposed research topic.
b) It convinces your review committee that the student can communicate this understanding of the statistical literature and its relationship to the proposed research.
c) It supports the originality and relevance for the research problem.

Helps you justify your findings and how it is related to your field of study
