Probability and non probability sampling techniques

Research Paper

I have never used sampling methods earlier. Can someone tell me the major difference between the probability and non-probability type of sampling and their subdivisions.

Randomization is the major difference between the probability and non probability sampling technique. Probability technique consists of random sampling, stratified sampling and cluster random sampling. Whereas non probability sampling consists of accidental and purposive sampling.

Jane, probability sampling use randomization. Whereas non-probability does not use any randomization techniques.

Ashish, probability and non probability is not limited to the ones you have mentioned. Probability sampling also consists of systematic and multi-stage random sampling. Whereas expert, diversity, modal instance are included in non probability sampling.
