To conduct PhD in biostatistics field, you need a masters degree in statistics. Also knowledge regarding programming is must. Once you start your research you will hardly have time to learn programming. So it is better to have programming knowledge prior to conducting the research.

Agreed! Programming knowledge is very important when it comes to biostatistics. Not just programming, you will need knowledge pertaining to medicine, electronics, graphics software and data mining software.

I have basic knowledge regarding programming but I do not have any knowledge regarding medicine and electronics. What should I do now?

Basic programming skills wouldn’t be sufficient. Also you don’t have basic knowledge pertaining to medicine/ science. Hence it is better if you take up subject in which you have all the necessary skills to conduct research.
