Types of analysis

Hello, I am a PhD researcher presently in the area of fluid flow analysis. I am in the final analysis stage where losses in the fluid flow need to be calculated. Can anyone suggest me with what type of analysis must be considered to find out the major losses in fluid flow?

The major loss for the fluid flow through the pipes is due to the frictional resistance between adjacent fluid layers sliding over each other. All other losses are considered to be minor losses. Hence friction analysis must be considered to find the major loss.
