My research domain is social psychology. I’m supposed to use descriptive research method. But there are many types of descriptive research methods out there. Which one should I use? I’m so confused. Please help.

aarna, if you want to observe an individual or a group in-depth then go for case study method. By using this type of method you can get an insight into the rare things or may be rare situations which are not possible to experiment in the lab.

Hello aarna. If you want to determine the relationship between the variables then better go for correlational research.

Well, I would suggest you to use experimental method. This is the best method used when it comes to determining the relationship(casual) between the variables. In experimental research method, there are two kinds of groups; the control group and the experimental group. Control group serves as baseline whereas the experimental method manipulates levels of individual level and then measures its effects.

I do agree with Mac. If you want to determine the causal relation then use experimental research method. This is proved to be the best research method.
