No idea about literature review

6 years ago in Literature Review By Pradeep Sharma

I am writing my research paper on campus violence. In this paper i will talk about the increasing violence in campus and universities now a days and right now i am dealing with the chapter literature review. There are a lot of problems which i am facing while writing my literature review in my paper. As i don’t know how many researchers’ ideas i can add, should i also add some statements that are contradictory to my topic or should i avoid adding them as that will be against my paper. Please someone brief me about this as this confusing me very much.

Be sure and confident of the relevant material because only then you will be able to work efficiently on your literature review. Don’t forget to include these things in your literature review Objective of the literature review, Overview of the subject under consideration, Clear categorization of sources selected into those in support of your, particular position, those opposed, and those offering completely different arguments, Discussion of both the distinctiveness of each source and its similarities with the others.discuss about the limitations, research gaps of the other researchers’.

Don’t be confused with literature review. The number of research work is all depended on your research topic. If it can be covered in less no. of researchers’ ideas so it’s brilliant but less no. of researchers’ ideas are not covering the complete concept of your topic then i think you should include more researchers’ ideas. Yes, you should add some statements that are contradictory to your topic but not that much, only a brief about them. I am also sharing some links with you from where you can get an idea of literature review: https://academiccoachingandwriting.org/dissertation-doctor/resources/writing-a-literature-review , https://www.apu.edu/live_data/files/288/literature_review.pdf. Go and read them. I think it’s enough for you to understand the literature review chapter.
