If your research design aims to study the challenges, cultures, motivations, etc. then you should use ethnographic method. This method includes in-depth observational approach that studies the individual in their naturally occurring environment.

According to me the most popular qualitative approach that can be used to collect the data is one-to-one interview. Here you have to conduct a personal interview. By doing so, you will obtain an in-depth information from the respondent. That is it gives you an opportunity to collect precise data from the people. However, if you need some detailed answers, then you must ask follow up questions.

No, to gather systematic data you will have to use qualitative observation approach. It uses subjective methodologies and equates quality differences. To know more about this method visit https://www.questionpro.com/blog/qualitative-observation/.
