Difference between data triangulation and theory triangulation is simple. Data triangulation involves space, time and persons.  On the other hand, theory triangulation involves usage of theoretical concepts in the interpretation of the phenomenon.

Data triangulation involves the collection of data by using strategies such as different times, contexts and people.  This also includes the collection of data from the researcher’s experience and participants involved in the research.

Theoretical triangulation is also regarded as methodological pluralism. This type of triangulation includes combining different methodologies  such as feminism and interpretivism.
