Piezoelectric effect can be used in rotary motors, pumps and linear motors. Also, since they display coupled structural deformation it can be used in shear deformation.

Piezoelectric is widely used in acoustics. These use piezoelectric materials to produce sound waves. When it is subjected to the varying electric field, a vibrating piezoelectric element generates alternate rarefaction and compression in the surrounding media. Also, it can be used in bulk acoustic waves and MEMS RF filters. Piezoelectric based MEMS can also be applied in micro-scale chemical sensors.
