Yes you can use semi-axial flow pump to achieve high flow rates.

This pump contains an impeller with a few vanes, may be only three or four vanes.   These vanes are oriented in such a manner so that the pumped fluid exits axially.   The impeller will be driven by an electric motor and the axial orientation of the impeller vanes generates   low head as the liquid is pumped. An axial flow pump produces only 10 to 20 feet of head.   This is much lower when compared to centrifugal pumps. This pump is capable of producing very high flow rates, higher than any centrifugal pump.

You can easily achieve high flow rates using this pump. This pump is also called as propeller pumps.   The reason behind being, axial flow impeller looks the same as that of a boat propeller.   Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foHY0QbvYCw, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiE8skW8btE.
