In stratified random sampling technique, the entire population is divided into multiple homogenous and non-overlapping groups.
This process involves seven steps.
1. Defining target audience
2. Determining stratification variables
3. Evaluate the sampling frame and make changes if required
4. Ensure that each stratum covers each member of the population
5. Assign a random number to each variable
6. Determine the size of the stratum as per the requirement of the study
7. Select random element from each stratum and form a group
