Conclusion section is the summary of your dissertation/thesis. However, it does not mean that you re-write the points. Instead provide basic synthesis of everything stated in earlier chapters. While rephrasing your research topic and thesis/dissertation statement, connect them logically so that your conclusion sounds like a coherent rather than a bunch of random concepts.

While writing the conclusion chapter, avoid these points. Don’t start your conclusion section with the words such as “in summary” or “in conclusion”.  You don’t need to say obvious things to write a great conclusion. Also ensure that your thesis/dissertation is stated not only in the  introduction but also in the conclusion section to help the readers follow the arguments throughout the paper.  Remember, don’t present any new arguments or information about your research which isn’t mentioned in any of the chapters.

In your conclusion section, restate your research topic and explain why it’s significance.  Ensure this part of the conclusion is clear and concise.  Summarise main points of your paper and remind your readers your key elements in your thesis/dissertation.  Discuss the significance of your findings and the future scope of your topic.
