For determination of size homogeneity you can use gel filtration. Gel ï¬ltration let’s you detect small changes in the size of detergent-protein complexes especially when different detergent-proteins are compared. Gel ï¬ltration is used to give an indication of the suitability of various detergents for a particular protein. Therefore separation of gel ï¬ltration is an important tool for qualifying the membrane protein preparation.
