Can ethnogtaphy technique be used in science domain?

according to be ethnography method is used in social science. I’m not sure if it can be used in science domain as well. Ask you guide to have a clarity.

Ethnography method looks at the cultural setting of an individual, deeds and words, the implicit as & the explicit, language, symbols, rituals and shared meanings, the way in which the individual interact with one another and with their social & cultural environment.

in ethnography two research parameters need to be considered. 1.Time – ethnography method is time-consuming. Hence ensure you have plenty of time to complete the process aptly. 2. Place – Ensure you have the organisation you wish to observe. Also decide if you are going to observe organisation as a whole or in part.
