Yes there is. Radial flow pump is used for this purpose. Radial flow pump is a subsection of   centrifugal pump and has several impellers in series and guide rings that handles medium from radial flow to axial inlet of the next stage.

Radial flow machine pumps the fluid perpendicular to the pump shaft. The fluid will flow through a suction hub into the rotating impeller as a result of an energy fall. The pump will absorb the mechanical energy from a drive motor through a shaft and the blades will exert a force on the fluid resulting in increase its angular moment. Consequently the energy will be transferred to the fluid. The energy (in kinetic form) is converted into additional static pressure energy via a diffuser device.
